Generating More Dental Patients
If you’ve managed to acquire some decent traffic to your dental website, yet people are still not calling to make appointments, the most likely reasonĀ is two-fold…
1) you’re not getting enough pre-qualified site visitors and 2) your website converts poorly
The latter is the most common reason ALL websites do not fare better in sales.
Obviously the average dental website does not sell products — it mainly strives to inspire a visitor to call or register online for an appointment. These are the main “call to action” events the dentist wants and needs.
What’s The Secret To Better Conversions?
How does one make the most of their website design so that its message is compelling enough to cause people to call? Aren’t all websites basically the same — all you need is enough traffic and you’ll get patients — right?
The answer is yes and no — any website with sufficient regional traffic can generate some new patients, however, a site properly configured for conversion will bring in perhaps 300% or more new appointments.
The primary keys to conversion success are:
- design around a central “call to action” and what you want visitors to do
- know what patients need - develop a website that solves their problems
- make it exceedingly easy for people to get the information they came for
- test different site templates — track conversions — and keep improving
There are many variables at play to consider — such as page download speeds, accessibility to contact details, colors used, size of text blocks, readability, use of video, etc. Experimenting with various design templates, then comparing the results of each will over time reveal a more successful model — from which you can continue refining.

Very important post. This is the first thing I look for when I am looking to make an impact on a website. I ask clients all the time “What do you want customers to do when they visit your site?” In other words “Are you making it easy for prospective patients to engage with your business online?”

I agree Hayden — without a mission and main goal in mind, a website doesn’t have a defined purpose and its owner is forever seeking solutions and adding more pages that only serve to confuse visitors further.
Thanks for stopping by!
